Dear Kid Saturday: Like a Fish
Dear Becca,
Friday, we went with Grandma Tracy, Aunt Kricket, and Aunt Shannon to the pool of the local YMCA. We walked down, got you into your swim suit, and then, with Aunt Shannon, walked into the pool area.
I’ll be honest with you. I figured (as did everyone else) that you weren’t going to enjoy the pool. Most young children don’t. Baths are fun, but this is a big pool and a lot of kids don’t like that they can’t touch the bottom. I thought that we would get you in there, you’d scream and cry, and then we would have to go home.
So, when you immediately tried to jump into the water, I was a little surprised. We set down our towels, walked over to the stairs, and I let you walk in. At first, you were a little unsure of the water, but that didn’t last long. You got right in, and started splashing around and laughing. You played with the water ball, learned to kick your legs, and got a kick out of watching your feet under the water, then lifting them up to grab them. We barely had to hang on to you. In fact, by the time we left, you were trying to convince us to let go.You were even dipping your face into the water.
We just couldn’t get over how much you enjoyed the water. You were like a little fish. We stayed for almost two hours, and you still weren’t ready to get out. Grandma Carol got some great pictures and video of you splashing around. I can’t wait to go back in a couple weeks.
Love,
Mommy

So great! No better way to spend a day then with a happy kid at the pool:)
